Thirkettle Corporation introduced its first subsidiary, Aqua Metric, into Southern California as an authorized distributor for Precision Meters in 1992.  Originally based in Ontario, Aqua Metric quickly became entrenched in the marketplace approaching 1999 when Precision Meters was acquired by Sensus.  Soon thereafter, Aqua Metric became the authorized Sensus distributor in Southern California.  It was at this point Aqua Metric began to drive the marketplace from a direct read brass commodities business to a technology driven AMR industry.  Aqua Metric rapidly became the industry leader selling more AMR radios than all competitors combined in the Southern California marketplace. As result of continued growth and success, Aqua Metric transitioned into a larger facility in Riverside, CA becoming the sole Sensus distribution in Southern California.  Aqua Metric continued to drive the industry and fully committed the organization to Sensus’ progressive direction within the AMI market.

In 2007, Aqua Metric expanded into the Texas marketplace and developed a Distribution Center in Schertz, TX - just north of San Antonio.  Immediately, Aqua Metric began cultivating relationships with existing Sensus customers while creating brand new relationships with a simple concept: provide and support innovative technologies to maximize efficiency.  In a state with little to no AMI footprint, Aqua Metric quickly began to promote, implement, and support Sensus FlexNet throughout the state, growing from zero to fifty-two AMI systems deployed in under eight years.

In addition to California and Texas, Aqua Metric is the exclusive Sensus Distributor in Hawaii and parts of Nevada. In 2014, Aqua Metric was awarded the opportunity to expand and promote Sensus Water and Electric Utility technologies in the State of Louisiana.

As an exclusive distributor for the most innovative metering and system manufacture, Aqua Metric recognized the necessity to develop an in-house Technology Team to provide the most responsive and comprehensive customer support.  Thus, Aqua Metric developed and expanded its Technology Department to implement, service, and support Sensus AMI/AMR systems throughout their project lifecycle.  In March 2012, Aqua Metric became one of the first Sensus Certified Value Added Resellers to further support and maintain Sensus technologies deployed in Texas and California.

Aqua Metric currently employs 31 full-time and dedicated staff members each encompassing individual roles based on specific abilities; however, each staff member is also flexible in their knowledge base allowing fluidity from one department to another.  Our employees are based throughout multiple states allowing for best coverage for our distribution area.  All employees receive ongoing product training from Sensus to assure that they are knowledgeable in the full Sensus product line.
